graduated silently, sporadically, randomly

three i stuck with and now they’re stuck with me
two i slept with, one i regretted, one i wanted but i never said it and i’m glad

one used to hate me cos i would never say goodbye
one gave us mdma but wrote songs that made us cry
and one disappeared, her profile erased, and the only proof i had is a thumbnail i saved to a corrupted drive in a laptop grave in someone else’s house

i don’t remember her name, but i’ll never forget dropping her change
i don’t remember her face, but i don’t think i’ll ever forget her top 8 place

(weirdly enough, i was on my way to play a yf show the day after i finished writing this, walking to the train station and debating whether to risk playing it
i looked up and she was literally standing right in front of me. i remembered her name but she didn’t recognise me
what even is life anyway)
