plus now i had all these girls on my mind, and i had to impress them
without getting deep into it, i was like any other yute on road
smoking the weed, hating police, not caring about tomorrow
see the years flew by so quickly, suddenly i was 18 years old
surrounded by money, women, cars, drugs and the alcohol
astaghfirullah i was lost, jaahiliyyah made me brain dead
but i walked free from the devil’s entrapment
now i feel like i’ve come back from the dead
and i pick up my pen, open my pad then i sit there scratching my head
few minutes later
look at the paper, well al7amdulillah i feel blessed
cuz the words keep flowing down the page like tears
it’s like i’m relieving my stress
now i’m grateful for where i am today
thank you for all of the tests that you gave me
cuz you saved me and you made me
into the man that i am today
you told me that you love me, and you’ve blessed me
now i wake up everyday, before the sunrise like a soldier
stand on my prayer mat, waiting to say
allahu akbar, you’re the greatest
and i can’t wait to prostrate
