on one fateful day

the boy’s curiosity took over

free and unhindered by adult concerns
the boy introduced himself to the giants that roamed below

but not quite so
the giants’ niceties were contrasted to their appearance

the boy quickly found solace among their ranks
meanwhile, the village’s adults had spent nearly a fortnight
searching for the lost child
upon stumbling upon the hidden entrance of the giants
the adults took grasp of their weapons
and encroached upon the giants’ land
with a fleeting fury, the adults swiftly dispatched of the giants
leaving their carc-sses strewn upon the now forsaken land
one of the adults found the boy, huddled in a m-ss in a corner
weeping, the boy cried out in anger to the adults
questioning why they must k!ll his friends
the adults quickly hushed him
no longer wishing to hear his truths
and brought him back to livingstone
once the boy reached adulthood
he set out on a grand and lonely adventure
to find more hidden lands
and become a part of their population
on a particularly dreary night
deep in the blue forest
camouflaged by the leaves
the boy was met by a tribe of adults
by the time the adults realized that the boy was more than a ghostly figure
it was too late
their arrows had found their targets
and embedded in the boy’s heart
and just like the pain the boy felt when he saw his friends m-ssacred
the boy felt the most fiery pain deep within his chest
he saw the ghastly images of his friends p-ss his eyes
and felt a deep comfort rest in his mind
and soon, the rest spread through his soul
the fire in the boy’s soul had extinguished
and rose to find its place among his friends
