the boy finds himself in forest, sitting against a tree. it’s dimly moonlit. a blue wolf emerges from behind and slowly circles him

wolf (with the boy’s voice): you dumb-ss. you were never cut out to deal

the boy: guess so

wolf: you should’ve let him die and escaped

the boy: wouldn’t get far. besides, there’s nothing to go back to

wolf: naomi-

the boy: -doesn’t need me

the wolf steps up to the boy’s face

wolf: you think you’re some selfless hero? some reformed criminal?

the boy: no, i’m just making moves for once

he shoves the wolf away

he wakes up, still on the couch, bleeding. two bullets in his chest. barely hurts. noone’s in the room. people are running upstairs

random cop: where’re the paramedics?!

the boy struggles to get to the kitchen. he opens a cabinet containing alcohol bottles. he throws a few in random directions. they shatter. he grabs a matchbox from a drawer. he lights one and drops it on a puddle of alcohol. it catches fire immediately

he stumbles towards the backyard door, throwing lit matches as he goes. some furniture catches fire. everything’s burning

standing at the door, he looks back. the wolf is standing at the kitchen doorway, engulfed in flames

the boy: you stay here and burn with everything else

the flames burst towards the boy, combusting his coat

he takes his last steps to the edge of the pool and stares at the water. it’s calm. peaceful. a safe haven

he falls forward into the water
