but when you hate yourself more than they dislike you it gets real
without the confidence in self it becomes harder to deal
and no direction for your life it’s like you’re drunk at the wheel
they’ll try to break your mind and spirit every time you will heal
‘til your will and determination becomes harder than steel
this ordeal is temporary you can leave it behind ya
you’ll find the peace that you desire when you travel to china
things ain’t perfect yet
but in retrospect
you’re closer to the happiness than you thought you could ever get
and d-mn right
without all that you swam through
i wouldn’t be here and i wouldn’t be me
so i thank you
