everybody loved it
but the academy

off we go, our heroes quest
through expensive lego sets
the old west, corporate rooms
and a world made by 6-year-olds on shrooms

but it’s full of harmony
for a bunch of intellectual properties
historical men like ’02 shaq
and a manic depressive cat

but batman steals the show
and a hyperdrive from lego han solo
nerds squeal when he’s at the wheel
of the batwing that becomes a batmobile

just one of the other dope creations
submarines and sp-ceships (sp-ceships!)
although without a doubt
the best is emmet’s double-decker couch
(“that’s literally the dumbest thing i’ve ever heard”)
(“that idea is just the worst”)

whatever, lego freeman

it’s the lego movie!
everyone is cool with it, parents and kids
it’s like toy story
but with violent bits

cuckoo land goes alderaan
innocent folks get handcuffs on
tons of cartoon k!lling sprees
that’re all police brutality

incarceration and mental torture
decapitation and oh the horror!
emmet escapes and pratt-falls
through colorful walls, could that be all?

but it’s part of our universe
a father’s plan that his son made “worse”
an angry dad glues all the pieces back together
until he he sees his son’s new, unique creations
that used his sets as inspiration

imagination that deserves a hug
a declaration of a father’s love
they bond and build, it’s totally rad
it looks like fun but now i’m sad
