i am paul
a slave owned by jesus christ
an apostle who’s set aside
to proclaim the good news that was promised long ago
concerning him: god’s son who came down to earth
to be born and to give new birth
from whom we have received
the grace to make him known
so i write this to the saints who are in rome

i thank my god, for your faith is in plain view
and never ceasing to pray for you
o how i long to return and strengthen you at home
but i’ve been delayed
in order that i may reap of the harvest that includes
greeks, barbarians, the foolish, the wise
i’m compelled to preach truth and not support lies
i’m ready to reap of the seeds that are sown
and i’m eager to preach to the saints who are in rome
