how your surface looks so still

like a glass that could not break
a foul reflection of a day

the storm may rage in the forest
the wind tear up the spider’s webs
the branches of the trees start falling down
yet nothing disturbs your sleep

there is no storm that could reach you
down in the dell where you dwell
there are no dragons residing
down in the cold muddy h_ll
time of the mammoths is long gone
there is nothing to scare men
snags and the plants slowly rotting
snails and the fish that is all

we see cities we see mountains
abandoned houses in the night
we see vast and shoreless oceans
flooding rivers hard to cross
