like a precious memory

in this same way
so many things i could say
words i could write
about the beauty of your smile alone
they would fill an entire page
woman of warmth and intelligence
sophistication and elegance
the storm behind the scenes
pulling all the strings
from way back when
and your smooth chocolate skin
is as beautiful now
as it was then
without words
you prove that she wasn’t wrong
and was right to be mad
she saw clearly
better than i did
the chemistry we had
those early days
before we all parted ways
we through destiny
meet again

it’s still crazy to believe
