she gives him something small and shiny and puts it into his hand. he tries to get a better look but she puts his hand up for him and force feeds him. he starts coughing again. it didn’t go down easy

think of the best day. a day that you could wish to live over again. a single day to sum up a lifetime

he thinks hard. certainly not this day. or any day before it for that matter. no summer camp. no limo or a wall from dirty shoes. he digs real deep to find that light. that fire

sun. pop tarts. music with my crew. bonfires. marshmallows. did i have a day like that before?

the guardian leans over the water and grasps the back of his head. she pulls him to the edge of the pull and locks lips with him. subtle and sweet

a knock against gl-ss can be heard in the darkness. he wakes up
