the universe we live in is always changing. plants, animals, humans, and even planets all change over time
this process of change over time is called evolution. as a human, you are the end result of an evolutionary process, which has taken billions of years to complete
i know it’s hard to understand how truly long that is, so just understand this:
in life, you’ve experienced problems, one after another. some have seemed much too great to overcome
people may hate you because you’re different or because they’re just jealous
maybe you live in a broken home; maybe you’ve lost a loved one; maybe you’re sick and only have a few months, or even just days, to live
but no matter how seemingly bad your life is, when you take into account that you live in modern times, where you have the ability to contact friends, anytime and anywhere, share your emotions online, watch movies, play video games, love who you want, have a second chance, and so much more, while other organisms in the world have no such power, you’ve truly been given a gift
you may say, “being human’s not that special; there’s seven billion of us”. well, that’s nothing compared to how many fish, birds, bugs, and germs, and even planets there are
they would do anything to take our place, if they knew the pleasures we experience on even just a daily basis. yet humans continue to throw their lives away every day, by not trying to make a positive difference, refusing to enjoy life, giving up, or even committing suicide
you have been given a gift. you are a human, and time is running out to use it
it’s not about whether we simply were a human or not though; that’s sadly taken for granted. it’s about if we have made a positive impact on the world we live in
and when i say world, i don’t mean the entire planet earth. you don’t have to be a superhero or the president or anything like that to make a positive impact on this world
simply live each day with the acknowledgement in mind that you’ve been given a gift that is extremely rare, and that you must use it to the best of your ability to make a positive change in the lives of others and yourself
