as ava is daydreaming about her son noah. wyatt notices the door ajar and walks into the room unexpected. he speaks to ava, asking her what she is doing in here. she replies with “remembering. they are both quiet for a quick second and wyatt brings up that he has some paper he hasn’t quite finish yet but a plans to finish it later if ava would join him on a “house date” with him. ava reminds him that they used to call all their indoor dates that before noah disappeared. wyatt is quiet for a second and tells ava that noah is never coming back and she should start accepting that. ava tells him she never has accepted and never will. wyatt becomes extremely angry and storms out the room, slamming the door

ava leaves noah’s deserted room and walks to the ranch behind the mansion. she remembers as a child riding through the forbidden woods her mother told her not go through. she even rode near the old asylum, with her grey horse, jasper. she approaches the old horse and rubs his nose. he blows fiercely through his nostrils in disapproval. she backs away and approaches him again, he sniffs her then rubs his nose under her hand

after ava reunites with her childhood horse, she sets up his saddle and climbs on his back. jasper takes off with no warning, going at full speed. ava holds onto his mane tightly. a giggle of excitement bursts through her throat, and she tries to remember a time when shes felt this free. jasper runs downs a path ava remembers searching for noah on. she has a flashback of her searching every inch of every forrest, the open bay, and the old mansion. she remembers looking around the old asylum that time, and seeing a shadow p-ss by the building. a cold shiver runs through her body. she remembers climbing the side stairs outside the building. where her accident happened
