z-dawg - american dream rap كلمات الأغنية

yeah
let’s get this
ya know what this is all about
it’s the dream

i guess y’all don’t believe me when i’m saying
this dream, this american dream
it’s not for the players or the haters
it’s just for people like you and me

i guess you all think i am playing, when i really want to scream that this is the thing
we left england so that we could be free, and we made it the freakin american dream
with our sets of goals and ideals, and
democracy, rights, and liberty

as well as opportunity and rights, and all men were created in equality
i got a few influential men who wrote this, who i’ll talk about now
so i’ll just sit over there and let them take over the whole crowd

now winthrop was a man, he was a very very religious man
he believed everyone should live in equality, love, brotherhood and even peace, man
he wanted everyone to believe in christ, because the “lord shall hear us to please us”
and we must all walk humbly with our god else we will all fall to pieces

now most of this did happen to us, and the issues really got too big
due to ethnicity, race, gender, or background, but we need to talk to the next rig

his name is obama, he was kinda a big deal
as the first african american president, he signed a lot of big deals
his thoughts about freedom go deep, so be prepared to sit down
you will be here a while, please take notes all with a smile
he talks a lot on change and freedom, so stay awake, and don’t be dumb
maybe he will take it out on you very mild, but i doubt it will happen

the american dream would not be true if we don’t all work together
especially if we judge people based on their ethnicity, race, and even their gender
it would have died out if segregation had stayed but it’s close to dying these days
when we could help it but we choose not, we are k!lling it anyways

it sickens me that people want to change the lifestyle of the world for the worse
with racism because of the people who can’t forget their wounds from an earlier verse
all the bigots in the world just can’t agree that we ourselves are free
but “we can’t be complacent about the goals themselves”, now can we
we must fight for our rights as different skinned, but all in a peaceful way
so that we don’t seem to be coming in, to lay waste
to a country that was made for us, for us, to be free
we must be a fair people, so that people will view us exceptionally

now, gatsby, the king of the roaring 20’s, views the dream as something different
he sees it as an opportunity to get rich, to get girls
and other ideas he has that make me really want to hurl
i want to talk a little about him, because he sparked a revival

gatsby got girls the rough way, push and shove with their guy
he argued, never lost his temper, except when arguing with tom, daisy’s guy
towards the end of that, he looked as if he “had k!lled a man”
and was very angry that tom had taken his woman
the dream sometimes has to be fought for, and you don’t always win
just like mr. jay gatsby, you sometimes get trodden
but sometimes you come out on top, and you feel like you on top of the world
but you deserve to be, you earned it
just like gatsby earned his way to the top
but lost it all

the american dream isn’t something everybody fights for
or even looks to accomplish
but i can tell you these men wanted it, wanted it enough to fight
most of them won, but some of them lost
and this resembles our lives, some wins some losses
but we will always come out on top
if we look up in the sky
and ask the one to help us before we die

our dream can be accomplished, even with his help
so why don’t we recruit him, we could use him
maybe put him as a figurehead, in an influential place
to help guide us in our conquest, to pursue the american dream
