[verse 1]
sometimes i got thought a much like biggie
“i don’t wanna live no more”
got death your front door
i got a mental 4-4 aimed at my dome
feel the reflection of the owner off the chrome
tell my baby boo i won’t be coming home tonight
cause if i get caught up in a fight
i’d get my neck bust
but i lost since the beginning of the l-sting story
trust i guess is what it cost
failure at this point isn’t an option
so every move i make i must take caution
cause i know the haters are out watching
haters don’t got the efforts and sk!lls to be motivators
decorators of the people in which who honor
here’s one thing about the streets i get
ya got blood on the concreate cause of several beliefs
severe stress and the stomach won’t relief
i cook up hotter than a chef for the chief
make calls like a sports ref
rival the t-tle of “rhymemaster” sometimes
but i gotta get paid even in dimes
crimes isn’t anything to fantaize about
the worlds turning, but it’s burning
gotta keep earning respect
ironically i might get checked
but life turns like a pioneer turntable
ain’t stable
i wish i could dream like the other kids
“when i grow up”
i wanna be this and hat
heard everything from fireman to doctor
it’s always a shocker to people when i don’t know
it’s difficult to explain, the pain
of trying to put my life togeather
without the stereotypes
come togeather

[chorus]
things just change
things just change

but if things just change
that explains why people become so strange

[verse 2]
i’m often swinging around town
see what’s up or what’s going down
yeah i’ve been asked to go pound for pound
better off in the ground before i make a bad choice
just to get the fear
but anyways i’m riding east into niketown
next to the rose city
charlie g from the 503 yeah thats me
but i gotta crew too
supporters and family
and don’t you see that i’m not the only one
done dirt cheap before death reaps
don’t be messing with me or my peeps
what you do to them i do to you
man this place i live hillsboro-beaverton
i’m glad to call it home
it’s a pretty city the people real witty
it’s chill here so c’mon up
and see it for yourself if you dont believe me
here’s the next verse
i remember as a kid i used to gossip
about the old school rappers
but didn’t even listen to it til’ i got a little more curious
which interested me in this serious art
of rhythm and poetry
no this is not fake
my last tape was a hundred-twenty takes!
music and art is what i make
i bake my rhymes at a thousand degrees to keep them hot
rock the local hot spot
tick-to-the-talk
the block i used to live
even now so many words i should’ve give
if your not at war, forget and forgive

[chorus]
things just change
things just change

but if things just change
that explains why people become so strange

[verse 3]
gotta get the cereal to produce the rhyme material
periodically, i put my trilby with the stripes
take a hit on the pipe, the vocals are ripe
what’s this hype about hip-hop
it evolves and don’t stop
as a teenager they tell me i needa put my imagination on graduation
i think it could be worse
and get it set to gang or murderous affiliation
or take a perminent vacation
my situation for poetry is what they don’t know about me
you see
grow up to program or be an mc
i just don’t know
1..2..buckle my shoe, here’s the news
3..4..that girl in elementary turned a hoe
5..6..the loser can get chicks
7..8..the honor roll kid loves to hate
9..10..time happens, where’s ya best friend?
one day you have a honey, next day they gone
ain’t that funny how people come and go
it’s a lesson, mistake, or foreshadow
battle out the pain to gain knowledge
get smart going into collage
to k!ll a mockingbirds words written then spoken
don’t start choking out once get yourself in a bad spot
crack rocks don’t heal, be real
and once had a friend of mine k!lled
failure of awareness got us in a mess
now ya at the church every week to confess
be blessed for what you have
gotta make a living dealing drugs to kids at the high school
makes you no fool
it’ll make a pitch, rich
carrying deals in their pack
watch your back
slack
and you’ll get a black eye
you either professionalize to insitutionalize
and revolutionalize to get the check
money mean, cash flow lights green
write what you’ve seen:
“supply the demanded”
“bring poppa his money” some have been commanded
struck branded, in the urban metro
electro-shake down, a breakdown and take-down
new era, new friends, and new enemies and even house remedies

[chorus]
things just change
things just change

but if things just change
that explains why people become so strange

[verse 4]
everywhere i travel a part of the world unravels
glare at the mavel, from high skyscr-pers to hearding cattle
that baby laughs when the rattle shaken
but cries when they friends are taken
get them in a bad spot
checks infringes, syringes, and binge’n on the skunk
b-ss speakers with an ak in the trunk
g-funk blasting, iron casting on the casket
o.d. is the cause of death
in the last breath was nicotine
another dope fiend is dead
we have our ups & downs
smiles and frowns
for god made me skin and flesh
every single day is a refresh
from our struggles to our sores
notice how when it rain it pours
ever so more, the sun shines brightest when it’s clear
every year a mind travels
here and there, like a trip to flip without the source
so of course it slips into madness
momma’s check to the house is overdue
poppa so high, he’s turning blue!
stuck in the middle, so what are you gonna do
but the foe of this situation is the opposite of ministration
authority and administration ain’t helping
fruststration rise, so go pack up and take it to the skies
find yourself a new path
take a lesson from the after math

[chorus]
things just change
things just change

but if things just change
that explains why people become so strange

[verse 5]
as a little kid they used to tell me to stay clean
and the world is good
well, that’s wrong
you gotta be strong cause you get picked with a pair of tongs
ever so longing will happen in your life
whatever it is a new car or your wife is gone
push along now
put me in handcuffs for feeding my family
puff-puff that’s why you’re tough
puff and blush is today
no way could the truth appear
steering on lies, hearing at your tri’s and proven fault
crawl back into your cave cause you wasn’t brave
to admit yourself, get caught tryna predict yourself
no reputation and automatically submit yourself into controversy
at mercy of the public
constant conflict, get yourself self restrict
my, oh, my, what people do to ride
next moment they run and hide just to do it again

[chorus]
things just change
things just change

but if things just change
that explains why people become so strange

[verse 6]
let’s slip back to many years ago, in elementary
if you dominated the school yard games you had the grade fame
everybody knew your name
fads came and went
a bend on the rules
to think back, before we thought as people as tools
not very many blues
now if you line them up the clue match
getting hit, smashed, and scratched
infected and sick, cause the wounds won’t patch
catch a disease, oh jeez
it wasn’t filled with sorrow
cause you dreamed a better tomorrow
it sucks having to borrow five bucks to eat your only meal
to grow up and learn to steal, everything starts somewhere

[chorus repeats and shuffles into outro]
things just change
things just change

but if things just change
that explains why people become so strange
