displeasure clear, one by one

i sense the gloom, regret sinks in —
wish i’d stayed out, not walked in
better to wait and stand alone
than watch such trash carved out of stone

where’d they find the cash and crew
to make this mess and call it new?
i’ve penned stories my whole life long
never dreamed they’d get it this wrong

it wouldn’t take a clever hand
to write much better — understand?
now i know why she never came —
she saw the wreck, dodged the shame
with films like this, what chance have i
to get a girl to sit nearby?
