hi everyone, thank you for joining us today, and i am so happy to be back in j_pan and i just wanted to say a big thank you to all of my fan’s for believing in me over the year’s and for loving my new album “artpop” so that i can return to j_pan and see all of you, thank you

it’s, very overwhelming and very exciting whenever i put out a new piece of music i am always excited and nervous to fight for something new so it’s been a wonderful experience sharing the music and i feel very blessed that the album went number 1 in so many countries, thank you

well when i was writing “artpop”, i was thinking about everything that has happened so far in my life as well as in the life that i now share with my fans, and after “born this way” i felt that there was a true celebration for the fans in their individuality, and with “artpop” i wanted to create music that allowed them to be creative, music that inspired them now to take action and follow their dreams, so the music has a lot of energy a burst of adrenaline in each song and this is the true statement of the album, how can you find art in your own life how can you take the art of your own life and your own passion and spin it in the goal of your future

i want them to pay attention to themselves, not just feeling strong, and brave anymore but becoming more aware of their talent’s more aware of their passion’s and knowing these things are important. i feel creative everyday and i feel this because i have so much love from my fan’s. so “artpop” is about me giving love back to them when i feel sad i don’t make sad music, i make happy music, so this is my way of inspiring my little monster’s hopefully to use their sadness or their pain, or their challenges in a creative way even for those of them who may not be creative, the music was designed to give you a burst of energy and when this happens i want them to pay attention to their impulses, what do i feel like doing in this moment?. it was really designed to be a emotional and visible experience something that is fun but a little more than just fun, fun _ joy, fun _ love, fun _ a acknowledgement of all the people around you. with “artpop” i say “we could belong together artpop” and this lyric came from me feeling a sense of who i am now only when im with my fan’s and being happy that i only matter because of them, because we are one

well i am a very big fan of jeff’s work and he gave us a very special gift by working with me on the cover and making the sculpture of me because what he did was, is he allowed my fan’s to experience his whole life, his past, and his present and future through me. when im working with these artist’s sometimes i think the impression is that i am trying to be artistic for the fan’s but the truth is what i want them to focus on is the life of these artist’s their purpose in the world but also where they came from and how they came very far i don’t expect my fan’s all to be singer’s or all to write music but who knows? there could be a fan who makes sculpture’s, a fan who paint’s, a fan who loves to do makeup, who loves to do hair, maybe they like to go fishing?. the point is i want to expose them to other people in the world that made their dream’s come true and when we come together, we create the sculpture and it is my way of saying : please celebrate the artist while they are living say that the artist is a legend while they are alive not when they are dead. so with “artpop”, to all my fan’s in j_pan, make a sculpture of you, make a painting of yourself, you are the canvas, you are a legend now

i am very _ right now, generally ,very drawn to things that are extremely colorful, things that have very sort of psychedelic quality like the artwork that you just mentioned, something that attacks you in a way that you instantly have a relationship with it, its like an assault on your mind on your senses i was very inspired by this artwork because when i saw it, it reminded me of the album and it reminded me as well of my personality, as the album is a very strong reflection on my personality, it is okay if you don’t like my music but if you choose to have an experience with my music, and an experience with what i create and with the fans it is extremely intense and it is extremely instinct and it attacks you it is like an assault on your senses that is why i love this work so much, so in j_pan even in the last couple of days i’ve been looking out the window and starring around at everything. “artpop” is about seeing art in everything that is around us, seeing the way that art had an effect on commercialism, so because i am for many considered a “commercial entity” i through “artpop” am showing how art has affected me as a pop star
i wanted to explain that the reason i choose these things and put them all together the music, the visuals, is because i feel a sense of revolution against the idea that you have to think about something before you decide if you like it. i want my fans to feel consumed by the music consumed by the visuals no thoughts to pass through their mind just the pure experience i want them to co_exist with the album and allow to take over them just for a brief moment and then after, after you fully give yourself then you decide if you like it. i think this is because in my country there’s a sort of theme that is running through society looking at things and giving it to the _ waiting for someone to bang the gong to crash the critic saying, “is it right or is it wrong?” this is the lyric’s from “applause” so what im trying to say is before we bang the gong consume yourself with work, allow it to take you over completely, allow your body to be intoxicated by the music in way that you’ll be intoxicated by a drink give the music, give the art give the creative things in your life the same amount of attention that you give to any recreation that you do get lost, get completely lost. this is “artpop”

it was so exciting, they’re so beautiful and it was so interesting when i was so lucky to meet the artist you know, because i kept saying thank you, thank you and i almost felt as he didn’t believe me and it was i guess it was for me to say to you that i respect your art so much and i appreciate so much the detail you put into these dolls you are a real visionary and a real artist and im just really honored i find them to be interesting and they look so much like me its funny because jeff koons who made the album cover he says to me about his sculpture’s that it’s so amazing when you create something the way that nothing else in the room matters and said that only the art is the most important so when i first saw the dolls i was with all my friend’s and at first they were so excited to take pictures of me with the dolls and then all of the sudden the dolls took over. and the dolls were the most important thing in the room and this is a beautiful thing this is a powerful artist

its been so wonderful i was able to go out for a little bit o have shabu_shabu its my j_panese tradition when im here, but mostly i have spent my time rehearsing because i come to j_pan maybe once a year and i’ll always want to make sure that i give my j_panese fans the best show i can give them

well im planning to start my new tour next year, and i will most certainly be coming to j_pan, and i can’t wait

i would just love to send you all my love and as much as happiness and health for the year and know when im not here im thinking of you and i’ll be counting down the days till il return to j_pan again
