those words were scratched out to a blank scr_p of stationary by a young and energetic lad in liverpool, england around about 1967. words that become an anthem. across the pond a few years prior, a curly haired kid in greenwich village had been busy bustling away on his royal safari typewriter when he conceived “love is a four letter word. the way i figure it, is that love, it lives somewhere between those two things. those two extremes. it’s kind of like willie and waylon said one time, “sometimes it’s heaven, sometimes it’s h_ll, and sometimes, i don’t even know.”
