dude 2
ha, you think i’m cop?
dude 2 is smirking, as if what the boy said was a joke
the boy
yea
dude 2
ima put it like this; you’re not walking out of here alive
the boy stares lifeless at dude 2
the boy
i’m fine with that, i don’t want to live

ext. poolside
the boy floats lifeless; eyes wide, bubbles clinging to his face. orange, yellow, and brown leaves float above him. his left shoe floating far ahead, probably from struggling at some point. next to the pool, dude 2 stands staring at the boy as he drifts into unconsciousness

int. infinilty large white room

——-[play song “shoulda known” at this point]——-

the boy regains consciousness sitting down, soaking wet, in what appears to be heaven; but there are no pearly gates. he stands up and turns around to survey his surroundings. he sees his father (rick ross), in a white mink coat, sitting in what appears to be an all-white vip booth. the only thing of color in the room is their skin and his father’s cuban cigar. he walks toward his dad, now standing in front of him
the boy
where are we?
the boy feels like a child standing in front of his father, soaking wet

his father gives no reply, just takes a long drag of his cigar and stares at the boy. the boy knows his father; he doesn’t re-ask the same question, he just waits, never breaking eye contact

father
what are you doing?
the boy looks down, thinking, not knowing what his father means, or what to say

father
is this the son i raised?
the boy feels even more childlike now, never looking up. he never felt good enough for his father; although confused by all that’s going on, an overwhelming feeling of disappointment descended upon him

father
son
the boy looks up at his father

father
you let people walk on you. think about why you’re here
the boy is still unsure of where he is, but -ssumes he is dead. but he thinks of past few days, how his words have been ignored, how he had people in his house and life he didn’t trust or want there. he feels anger starting to replace the feeling of disappointment

father
yea, that’s who i raised
the father nodding and grinning in approval; he takes another long drag of his cigar

father
show them a boss
blows the cigar smoke he just inhaled into his son’s face

ext poolside

the boy face down in the pool, 20 minutes had gone by and dude 2 was no longer poolside

the boy opens his eyes
——-[play song”f.d.b remix( feat. childish gambino)” at this point]——-

the boy exhales what tastes like smoke, and bubbles past his face hitting the surface. the boy slowly lowers his legs and crawls out the pool
rage is driving the boy at this point. he has fantasized and feared dying under these circ-mstances and retrieved two pistols he had stashed outside. the boy was actually amused none of his many unknown guest had ever found them
he hears them rummaging through his house, the boy takes pleasure in knowing they are still there
he opens the front door, aims both pistols at dude 2 and opens fire, lifting him off his feet. as dude 2 leaves his feet, time seems to slow for the boy. he hears dude 1 coming back in the house; he waits behind the buda statue. as dude 1 walks past him he pistol whips him. the boy pushes him to the ground, stares him in the eyes, and takes fire. time goes back to normal at this point. he retrieves his wallet and phone and in turn checks dude 1’s and dude 2’s wallets and phones to find out who sent them, who they are. upon opening dude 2’s wallet he sees the police shield and freezes and drops the wallet; knowing that he just k!lled two cops. he knows dirty or not, he has drugs and two dead cops in his house. he also knows with the shots that rang out police would be on their way soon

the boy

staring at dude 1’s wallet and police shield on the floor at his feet

the boy retrieves his bars of gold he kept in a vault

this thought process is interrupted as he hears sirens. unsure if he had been in his house that long after shots were fired, or if they are responding a lot faster than he thought they would, he knows he has to leave

the boy
f-ck, f-ck, f-ck, f-ck
the boy accelerates out of his driveway

the boy was seen leaving, and police are now following him

the boy thinks, east side, zone 6. he knows people there; he could get to the other side of the country and hide out for a while. he just has to outrun the police

the chase continues for 10 minutes, the boy takes the chase to an incomplete bridge that overlooks water

the boy
im rich, i’ll never be poor, there not taking me. (mumbles to himself)

the boy accelerates through the barricade (slow motion), and out into the open water

as the car hits the water, it starts submerging; the boy closes his eyes and starts to breath rapidly

he thinks of what he thought his future would have been. (rapid flashes of different scenes of him and naomi growing old together)
