so you’re probably wondering, where’s the music? but for this track, valley of sorek (interlude), it’s actually a 10_second voice recording. and what may seem like a meaningless voice memo, actually serves to be a pivotal track on this album. uh, i remember recording this voice memo around the same time i was putting the finishing touches on the last song of this album, sam’s remorse. i had one last thing to record on sam’s remorse, and it was the lyrics that you hear in the valley of sorеk (interlude). “and what i fail to understand, if god rеally chose me, then god’s got a plan. yeah, and if you tired of your sin, gotta own up to it then, and i been working on it man.”

and so it was literally that line that i had left to record for sam’s remorse. and so before i was getting ready to make dinner one day, i took my phone out and recorded this line in the kitchen, just so that i would remember the cadence of how i wanted to rap it in the song. i wanted to make sure i said those words as clearly as possible because it was those exact words that helped comfort me in my battle against l_st and temptation

and so i also named this track, valley of sorek, to allude to the journey samson took where he would meet delilah in judges 16 verse 4, which leads into the following track, delilah’s lap
