for adults, there were the touchstones: sister act, the waterboy
robin williams and bette midler films, that time was such a joy!
then the tent began to falter with the boom of video
they began devising sequels for every character we know
they bought out abc, where they found that guy named bob
soon eisner was ousted, then iger took his job

and now disney has lost its way
a pale shadow of what used to be
just rehashing old ip’s, they’ve gone astray
superheroes and girl bosses are truly misery!

when iger took the helm with a vision bold and wide
he bought every other kingdom and let walt’s classics slide
in a rush to conquer, he bought each franchise boys had loved
then gave fans the middle finger with a big white cotton glove

we had worlds of wonder, each tale a precious gem
but now it’s crowded clutter __ we don’t remember them
where’s the joy and laughter, the stories pure and grand?
we’re drowning in a sea of bad remakes __ do they even understand?!
