see this humble man, walking along o’er the rock and the sand
he sent his brothers on ahead that he might speak alone with god
raising hands above, he begs the lord to show mercy and love
towards angry sinners in a town from whence he came preaching christ

brother dominic, the preacher of grace
you are called by the lord god!
go forth with jesus your savior
to praise, to bless and to preach!

now, in fading light this band of preachers arrives for the night
though he is hungry and spent, dominic still yearns to prеach
he calls novices near, christ crucifiеd shines through eyes filled with tears
he says: “what does it profit any man
to gain the world yet lose his soul?”

seven_ centuries have past since this doctor of truth breathed his last
as on the day when he died, dominic still speaks these words:
“you must have charity, one for another and guard humility
make voluntary poverty your only treasure in life
children of dominic: be preachers of grace!
you are called by the lord god!

to praise, to bless and to preach;
