so um, people ask me sometimes
what my writing process is when i write songs
and, yeah, this is basically it
i sit in one place
preferably really early in the morning

and i sit down with the guitar, or a keyboard
and i’ll just mash, you know, chords or melodies
i’ll play melodies that don’t necessarily inspire
other melodies, but they inspire songs
like i’ll sit here with like a keyboard, you know
and just play anything

and that’ll make me wanna write a song about, um
my cat, you know?
