[unknown male, female weather reporter, various voices, rafe lanore]

intro: (00:00 _ 00:59)

???: one time, to prove to myself that i was not an ignorant person, i bought a blackboard. and i purchased a course [?] course for computer programming, and i completed it with the blackboard. so, (clears throat,) forge ahead. don’t stop. never stop learning. always reach out to better yourself, because when you do that… things expand. you understand more, you’re happier, you’re healthier. this old saying that “if you don’t use it, you lose it,” is absolutely true

part one: broadcasting the storm (00:59 _ 08:43)

“5:16 on the clock this morning. not out of [?] it is just too bitter cold. if there’s no reason to be outside today, you need to stay indoors, because those temperatures could cause frostbite in under thirty minutes.”

“let’s first talk about some of our snowy conditions. this is a live look at highpoint flats in muskegon. uh, can’t really see much behind the snow that’s coating the camera. one of the areas on the lake_shore that’s seen some of our highest snowfall over throughout the weekend and into early this week. temperature_wise, though, you’re having a nice influence from lake michigan.”

“then we travel down to kalamazoo. one of our coldest spots out in the [?] morning, sitting at _5f, with a wind chill value at _26f. it’s so cold in the atmosphere that we’re actually seeing light pillars. and that when light reflects of the ice crystals in the sky.”

“as we count down throughout the day, we will continue on with this frigid cold air mass. _3 degrees in places like big rapids. but the further south you go… the colder those temperatures become. and this is not just for us in west michigan. really, this is an arctic blast of air surrounding the entire midwest. we actually have some of the warmest temperatures because of that influence of lake michigan.”

“hour by hour forecast here for feel like temperatures continues to show this going the next couple of days. tomorrow morning once again waking up to sub_zero conditions, us sitting at _10 to _20 degrees. [?]… tuesday afternoon, it’s going to be in the teens for those really frigid temperatures[?], with [?] conditions, will be our last frigid day before we star to see things improve as we track into thursday. perhaps, we’ll break out of the negatives…”

“iowa’s going to stay in the bitter cold, uh, temperatures through the middle of the week. so, it’s going to be cold today. it’s going to be cold on monday. we’re still looking at wind chills _20, _30 somewhere in that range.”

“we’ve got another cross country storm system. it really gets around…[?] rounding up the east coast on tuesday, bringing snow down to places like new york and boston.”

“come on down, get your snow tires. dolson ave., middletown. if you are in middletown or broadway, monticello, wind advisory ’til 5pm. [?] and bl_stery and chilly conditions this afternoon. [?]. there’s snow showers… [?]. clear skies for… [?]. partly sunny on monday. [?] 48f…”

part two: requiem of the workers (08:43 _ 12:11)
it’s getting colder every day for the past few days. only going to get colder. i’ve been stuck in my room for most of the week. i can smell the cold air through the window that i sleep next to, seeping through the hole that’s in it

i see the construction vehicles in the field, sprawled about, and the construction workers are out there in this weather for hours. i remember watching them plow the field down. it was like watching a close friend on their death bed. it was there my whole life. now it’s gone, and there’s nothing i can do about it. i just have to watch

part three: there’s more than just this, right? (12:11 _ 20:39)
