charles galbasin's spinoff work - what's the deal? كلمات أغنية
i’ve been working for this thing my whole life now..
well since 2019, but it’s like, y’know
same difference, tomato tomato, potato potato
i been through a lot, and now i’m out, and out on stage, out the stages, out the closet, out for blood
making racy comments for the commongood like they raised me to, it’s crazy dude
ever since bo burnham taught me you can hate yourself and play piano at the same time, i just knew it was my calling
calling out how f_cked the world we live in is
well, one of them at least
though, comedy is not even scr_ping the tip of the ice berg, it still was my first passion
back in diapers rapping, stacking the lettered blocks spelling goat? nope
no fire verse, but the mic was still soon to be active
‘cause i found the concept of laughter so fascinating, and making it happen for others was magical
since i was 10 or so? i don’t know, i don’t remember that far, but i still remember the start_up
i still remember i’d head to the kitchen, remote in my hands
i’d talk to my fans, really just the fridge, but i would pretend it was an audience, not just a big box filled with danimals and cheese sticks
and i’d perform my set, ask all those seinfeld_like questions, like:
“what’s the deal with this life, i mean, it’s like, i really don’t get it ‘cause i am like 10 or 9 or 11.”
and i’d picture it was televised up in heaven, so even though i was alone and had no real reactions i’d feel like i made a connection
but one day i’d find a video titled “left brain right brain” and my whole life changed
i’d make comedy songs, then i was ready to actively flog my content on the web
and i’d come across scrollin’, my “point a”, a cutesy little app called “rhymers block,”
tooled so a tool that ain’t yet know how to rap could see all the available assonances and pick one, until he could do it by himself
i basically stole every joke that i quote unquote “wrote”, and thought all the bot comments were real
made my first special, called it “seth appeal”
you’ll never see that, it’s so ass. so overly edgy, it was gross, now i know that
all these concepts i ain’t comprehend and yet i’d joke ‘bout
all these cultures i ain’t understand, it was so bad
and i ain’t even learn ‘til seventeen, that sh_t is so sad
that’s the age i learned to tie my shoes too, anyway
in 2022 i went to youtube, planning on posting a vid unlisted
of me performing a silly little song i penned a while back
thinking it just may be the thing that’ll get me famous
i posted it public instead, and the reception, the respect that it got, god d_mn
had to stop doubting and start posting for socials daily
eventually though an open mic event, was so enticing titled “almost every monday show lead by chris alan” and this talent, i thought, would not be missed out
so i signed up, booked the date, showed up, walked up to the mic, pushed my hair out of my eyes, looked at the crowd, and said:
