to begin my study, i think: just like demons are real, satan is real
[?] the existence of satan, saying he’s only [?], but satan is a real person

something that evil spirits are generally looked upon as influences and not an intelligent being
i just saw that this week in the paper, therе was an article entitled, “fool convincеd of heaven’s existence: survey with [?]”

popular belief of the positive existence the devil is increasing, according to a recent study
a 1973 survey of 3,456 persons showed that the number of those convinced of the devil’s existence roams thirty_seven percent
and a 1964 survey of forty_eight percent in last year’s study
it means in 1964, eleven percent, uh, the number of those who believe in the existence of satan has risen eleven percent
which, by the way, is still relatively small, it means only forty_eight percent of the people surveyed believe in the reality of existence of the devil
some folks think that the devil is just evil, personified
that it’s just a, an influence
but we’ll find out, before we finish, if um, there really is such thing as the devil
[?] said one time, “if there’s no devil, then who’s doing all the devil_ness?” and i, thought that sound pretty good
next one that i want to say, uh
through the study’s fi_ through the study’s findings, wasn’t publicized until now, the interviewing was done before the recent surge of interest of demonology called by the movie, “the exorcist”
this means this, uh, survey was done before this movie was put out
so the [?] just had been released
i would imagine that, uh, since this movie has recieved so much publicity, that the, the percentage of those who believe in the existence of satan would’ve risen even more by now
