balance is a harmonious blend of ingredients for the best flavor, a state of equilibrium. it’s when all the elements involved receive the right amount of attention, none overbearing, none playing the back or completely unnoticed. this perhaps may be the hardest part of the christian walk: blending truth, beauty, and goodness harmoniously. jesus being our standard of a perfect blend, not only that but the living definition of each, we’ve all seen the imbalances. it’s a pendulum that swings through church history and in our individual lives. denominations focus on truth becoming sadducees or beauty becoming pharisees or goodness becoming seeker-friendly. in each imbalance, the focus loses its impact. truth becomes false doctrine, beauty is madness, and goodness, compromise. as stated before, the balance is found in the character of christ. through prayer and study of god’s word and obeying those truths received, we become more accurate reflections of that balance. we don’t claim to have achieved that balance. we only hope to share the insight god’s given us. in short: truth is the message, beauty is the delivery, and goodness is the intention. using the three according to their roles is virtuous and divine balance
